Euclid launch first 'open source funding application'

12 March 2010

Euclid Network (EN) has launched the first ever open source funding application.

Open source means that anyone can change it. In the terms of this project it means that all stakeholders are able to comment and contribute to the funding application. The broader aim of the initiative is to move beyond the traditional suspicions and secrecies of most funding applications, and open a new chapter of openness.

'This is about changing the culture of fundraising' explained Filippo Addarii, 'using collective intelligence to make the application itself better and developing a culture of collaboration.'

EN will use this methodology for the EuropeAid IPA - Socio-Economic Partnership Programme call to strengthen civil society in the Western Balkans. However the project being developed - NGO GROW Western Balkans - has a much broader remit than this Call for Proposals.

View the Google Group and contribute to the application
