Report on 'Innovation in funding the third sector'

At the roundtable "Innovation in Funding the third sector and social economy", organised by Euclid Network (EN) and hosted at the European Parliament by Patrizia Toia MEP, around 30 people among European third sector leaders, MEPs and European officials, gathered together to productively and innovatively discuss the topic of funding for the third sector.
Event: Innovation in Funding the third sector and social economy
Daria Serani, on behalf of Toia MEP, and EN Executive Director Filippo Addarii, chaired the event.
Four case studies on innovation in funding were presented to the delegates, stimulating discussion on new and sustainable ways to fund the sector and social innovation, in the context of EU2020.
The case studies included:
- Charitable lottery (click on link to download the case study)
- Social stock exchange
- Social Innovation Park
- Social Impact Bond
The event was regarded as a success with the organizers enthusiastic to repeat it to explore more innovative cases from across Europe and beyond.
The event was a crucial part of EN's wider campaign to raise the profile of the sector within the European institutions and develop and funding environment that is sustainable and effective for third sector organisations.
