Funds secured to strengthen civil society in Serbia

Euclid Network have secured funding to strengthen networking within Serbian civil society, and connect it to the rest of Europe.
The 12-month project will start in mid June and will work with local partners: CRNPS, Belgrade; Roma Educational Centre, Subotica (Vojvodina), Urban In, Novi Pazar (Sandžak).
Beneficiaries of the project will be civil society leaders and senior professionals running a wide range of organisations (such as Roma organisations, educational organisations, human rights).
Objectives of the action
The overall project objective will be to develop effective, new dialogue-driven partnerships between Serbian and EU-based civil society networks, based on mutual benefits and concrete actions.
Specific objectives will include:
- Increase the formal links between Serbian and EU-based civil society
- Increased knowledge and understanding among Serbian civil society of the various ways in which it can engage with the European processes
- Serbian and EU-based civil society organisations and staff see practical benefits of cooperation and dialogue by improving financial sustainability
- Greater financial sustainability of Serbian civil society, showing the value of practical cooperation and increasing the viability of Serbian civil society
- Serbian and EU-based civil society staff enjoy strong personal connections
