Funds secured to strengthen civil society in Serbia

Euclid Network have secured funding to strengthen networking within Serbian civil society, and connect it to the rest of Europe. 

The 12-month project will start in mid June and will work with local partners: CRNPS, Belgrade; Roma Educational Centre, Subotica (Vojvodina), Urban In, Novi Pazar (Sandžak).

Beneficiaries of the project will be civil society leaders and senior professionals running a wide range of organisations (such as Roma organisations, educational organisations, human rights).

Objectives of the action

The overall project objective will be to develop effective, new dialogue-driven partnerships between Serbian and EU-based civil society networks, based on mutual benefits and concrete actions.

Specific objectives will include:

  1. Increase the formal links between Serbian and EU-based civil society                                 
  2. Increased knowledge and understanding among Serbian civil society of the various ways in which it can engage with the European processes
  3. Serbian and EU-based civil society organisations and staff see practical benefits of cooperation and dialogue by improving financial sustainability
  4. Greater financial sustainability of Serbian civil society, showing the value of practical cooperation and increasing the viability of Serbian civil society
  5. Serbian and EU-based civil society staff enjoy strong personal connections
