Reform of European funding

The campaign for the reform of European funding has been a lengthy process and the work still continues to get European funding working for civil society.

Campaign and activities

The recent financial crisis and the worldwide recession has resulted in relevant cuts in funding for the sector. The Review of the Financial Regulation only happens every three years and in 2010 a new document will be approved. Read the story of the campaign

Letter sent to UK Prime Minister to support Euclid recommendations - 22 January 2010
In response to Gordon Brown's EU Compact for Jobs and Growth in which he refers to a reduction in the bureaucracy for SME's in Europe, EN wrote to the UK Prime Minister endorsing his comments whilst highlighting that charities also require the same reduction in red tape to allow for growth and innovation. European funding recommendations released - 13 October 2009   
EN has released ten key recommendations on how to improve the financial regulation and implementation rules. These are the stringent codes which governs all grants and contracts awarded by the European Union worldwide. Read more
