Overview

The Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs programme aimed to foster entrepreneurship across Europe, by linking young and aspiring entrepreneurs with experienced entrepreneurs in another member state of the European Union. The New Entrepreneurs (NEs) were able to gain the experiences necessary to establish their own business and create a portfolio of contacts. Menwhile the Host Entrepreneurs benefited from new ideas and fresh perspectives from young and spirited future entrepreneurs.

Euclid Network's role

Euclid Network was leading the SEED consortium, a European consortium with a particular focus on Social Entrepreneurship. It coordinated relationships as well as the consortium partners based in the UK, Hungary, Italy and Spain. EN provided bursaries for young social entrepreneurs wanting to go to another European Union Member State in order to learn from an experienced entrepreneur based there. The focus of SEED was particularly on social entrepreneurs but anyone who fulfiled the eligibility criteria was able to apply.

Main achievements

Euclid Network and the SEED 1 consortium fostered exchanges and enhanced the knowledge about the Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs programme in its start-up phase. This led to an influx in applications in the second round (the third cycle), enabling more entrepreneurs to participate in exchanges with different countries.
